The host is over!

Bueno, pues prácticamente un mes después de haber empezado, ya he completado la parte fundamental del proyecto, que eran las miniaturas combatientes. Para terminar, he podido empeanar dos unidades de infantería que había pintado al principio del proyecto, y pintar otra unidad de caballería media. Junto a ellos os enseño otro de los personajes que los pretendientes de la Corona podrán atraer a su bando, una miniatura que tenía preparada desde hacía tiempo, pero que no la había baseado, por pereza y por no tener todos los accesorios que me gustaría haber tenido para preparar su base.

Well, hardly a month after I started, I have finished the basic part of the project, which is the painting of the combatant figures. To finish up with them, I could base two infantry units I painted at the very beginning and paint another unit of medium cavalry. With them I show you another of the characters the pretenders of the Crown could attract to their sides, a figure I got prepared for a while, but that I haven't based, half because I was very lazy, half because I didn't have the material I would like to use in the basing.

Las unidades de infantería son de la caja de Zvezda French Infantry of the Hundred Years War, excepto los portaestandartes, que son de sus rivales ingleses. Me encantan las miniaturas de Zvezda, son de las mejores del mercado, pero este set tiene un problema, y es que la mitad de los rostros de las miniaturas apenas están definidos. Estas dos unidades representan la guarnición de un castillo que se podrá unir a uno de los bandos en la batalla.

The infantry units are from the Zvezda Box French Infantry of the Hundred Years War, except the standard bearers, which are from their english rivals. I love Zvezda figures, they are one of the best int he market, but this set has a problem: half of the faces are undefined. These units will represent a castle garrison which will join one of the sides in the battle.

La unidad de caballería media son unas Amazonas Modernas de Dark Alliance. Esta marca es muy completa en unidades de razas "malvadas", aunque sus primeros sets eran bastante malos (lástima de elfos), con el tiempo han mejorado mucho en el esculpido y son una marca muy a tener en cuenta en figuras de fantasía. Los caballos son de su contrapartida masculina, los Cimmerios Montados. Las miniaturas tenían unas líneas de molde bastante marcadas, pero más o menos las he eliminado siguiendo la técnica de la "aguja candente".

The Medium Cavalry unit is a Modern Mounted Amazons from Dark Alliance. This brand is very complete in "evil" units and races, although its first sets were ugly (poor elves), with time it has improve their sculpting and is a brand to bear in mind in the case of fantasy figures. Horses are from their male counterpart, Mounted Cimmerians. Figures have a pronounced line mould, but I remove it with the "hot needle" technique.

Estas Amazonas son en realidad espíritus del bosque arrojadas en una Cabalgata Salvaje para dar caza a todo aquel que se ponga por delante. He usado tonos verdes en los caballos y en la piel de sus jinetes para dar ese aspecto mágico. Como las hadas y los seres de magia no toleran el acero ni el hierro, todas sus armas y armaduras son de bronce dorado.

These Amazons are forest spirits in a Wild Hunting against everyone who meddle in their way. I used green tones in the horses and in the skin of their horsewomen to give them this magical aspect. Because faeries and magical beings hate steel and iron, all their weapons are made of golden bronze.

Por último, una miniatura de 28mm de Reaper Bones. Se trata del dios cazador Cernunnos. La figura original llevaba una espada y un carcaj a la espalda, pero los quité para darle un aspecto más feral. Este iracundo dios del bosque se podrá unir a uno de los rivales si supera un desafío que requerirá de  toda su fuerza.

Lastly, a 28mm figure from Reaper Bones. It is the hunting god Cernunnos. The original figure wears a sword and a quiver in the back, but I take them off to give the character a more feral aspect. This wrathful god of the forest will join one of the rivals if he overcome a challenge which will need his strength to overcome it.

Ahora ha llegado el momento de ponerme con la escenografía. Quiero crear algunos elementos que resulten impactantes sobre el campo de batalla, pero ahora el tiempo corre en mi contra, ya que a mediados de agosto me iré de vacaciones, y para entonces, sea lo que sea que vaya a preparar, ya tendrá que estar hecho. ¡Manos a la obra!

Now its the moment of the scenery. I like yo create some strong scenery for the battlefield, but now time is running fast, because in the middle of august I will go on holidays, and whatever I will do, I must finish it before leaving. Time to work!
